“Super” boys beat Kaizer Chiefs in Diski Festival match

SuperSport United DStv Diski Challenge (DDC) boys beat Kaizer Chiefs 1-0 in an exciting Reserve League Festival on the weekend.

The DDC Festival was held at the Soshanguve’s Giant Stadium in Tshwane on Saturday.

The event continued the following day as some more exciting performances were displayed at the 2010 FIFA World Cup training facility.

Matsatsantsa had a lot of scoring opportunities in the first half but managed to put just one strike at the back of the net through Thabang Makhubo’s brilliant set-piece.

This after senior team forward Jabu Matsio was brought down on the edge of the big box and the referee pointed to the spot.

The halftime score was 1-0 to United.

In the second half, SuperSport continued where they left off but were disappointed by poor finishing.

Towards the end of the match, it was Chiefs who regrouped to push for an equalizer but the Matsatsantsa defence was difficult to penetrate.

Resilient Chiefs kept on putting some more pressure at SuperSport but goalkeeper Zach Taitz pulled some world class saves on numerous occasions.

The final score was 1-0 to SuperSport as Taitz deservedly won man of the match after helping his side to take maximum points home.
